Aspire was a collaborative project between Learning Through the Arts and Art Beyond Belief.
‘Aspire’ is a series of 8 weeks digital photography and self -portrait workshops, led by ‘Art Beyond Belief’ for 15 unemployed and economically inactive Slough-based residents, to support creative expression and general wellbeing
Through the series of workshops, group discussions, and a trip to The Courtauld Gallery at Somerset House, participants were encouraged to reflect on connections between identity and self-expression. Each session aimed to encourage creative expression, develop soft skills and work-related experience, and to improve overall health and well-being.
The programme concluded with a final exhibition at The Curve library in Slough, which featured the participants’ final works exploring the idea of ‘the self’.
This project is part of Learning Through The Arts, adult training and employability programmes, supported through the European Social Fund (ESF) and The Skills Training Funding Agency.
